Ian M just sent me a 2k screenshot. Apparently he's trying to figure out why it won't view in 4k. In other news I was speaking with an ex Gremlin QA chap who used to have a complete full copy of the design document for Hardwar: Legacy. He thinks it is lost but says it might be worth searching his old drives at some point. It's a longshot, but anyone still have a copy of this screenshot? Postimg.org is no more.

OK guys, sorry about this but I pretty much give up. I've intermittently tried to contact Ciaran and Ian over the past year now to no avail, so I'm no longer holding my breath. I hope to be pleasantly surprised one day. I gave it my best shot, but there ya go. It's obviously a big ask and I am grateful for everyone's input, but I guess it's unsurprisingly not high on their priority list 20 years on! Any chance you could try to reach out again? Funbox Media now owns the rights to the IP so they could probably legally transfer the source code if they still were to have it.

I am always tempted to contact Ciaran again and re-engage, or Ian if he's willing, but I feel that a lot of time has passed and that Hardwar is simply not part of their priorities. I do not want to be a bother to either of them.
On the bright side, with the release of Hardwar on Steam, I'm sure the question around the ownership and distribution rights must have been refreshed since Steam would need to know that before allowing it to be hosted on their platform. Therefore, Steam would probably know this, Funbox Media, or the Jordan Freeman Group / ZOOM Platform. More importantly, they may know if the source code can be distributed. I would really love to get that running in Visual Studio 6.0.

Hmm, I found this on the F-Droid forums: forum.f-droid.org/t/need-to-reach-ciaran-gultnieks/21430It seems a very inappropriate way to get the attention of Ciaran, to do it via public forums. An entire coincidence that Funbox had "lost" the Hardwar source code in a server meltdown, and they wouldn't have a backup copy of this? Also, Jordan Freeman ... Gordon Freeman of Black Mesa Research Facility fame? Seems a bit fishy to me.
