Giving the time it took to develop was Hardwar originally intended to run on Dos as well? There is a project out there called FreeDos, that has built an open source (GNU: G.P.L.) version of dos, that is even able to run Wolfenstein3D, etc. You can play your favorite DOS games on FreeDOS. And there are a lot of great classic games to play: Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Commander Keen, Rise of the Triad, Jill of the Jungle, Duke Nukem, and many others! Anyway it might be interesting to play Hardwar on it, if possible.

Given our discussion here, it most definitely did start out as an MS-DOS game, hence the leaked demo. It makes sense, given that the basic fundamentals of the engine were probably based on the Slipstream 5000 codebase. Also, an early preview here from Gremlin with an estimated release date of 1996, would have likely been an MS-DOS release.
