Hello all! This is Hammer....from a LONG time ago. I've been out of the world for a very long time, and am delighted to see that Zedo's Hardwar board is still here, and with lots of members! I used to run a server, but gave it up after I updated my computer and could never get the server to work right after I did it. I am not a computer guy, just someone that fell in love with the Hardwar game and wanted to contribute by running a server game. To this day I still think Hardwar is one of the all time greatest games made. I see you can buy an updated version, I think UIM06 from Funbox Media and Jordan Freeman group. Has anyone done this? I'd like to promote the game to my friends using that purchase and download if it works. Fantastic game and I miss playing. Probably time to start playing again. I'll have to dig out my old joystick. I'll leave you with an old screenshot of Neo Tiger high over Riverside with my custom skin. Damn what a great game! Attachments:

Welcome back, Hammer.
I haven't tried any of the online releases - still using the physical media. It really depends what configurations your friends are running. I would expect the online releases to work with the latest version of Windows - it depends when they released it. Do they not provide any system requirements on their product pages?
Would be great to get another server up and running again. If it was possible, I'd even be tempted to switch to a Windows machine just to join.

Hi Hammer, I bought the release from Funbox Media and Jordan Freeman group at www.zoom-platform.com/product/hardwar and it works pretty much flawlessly on my Windows 10 machine. I initially tried getting it to work using the ISOs and the patched demo but it would only work on 1024x768 windowed mode after a few hours of debugging, so I decided to get the Zoom platform release. I was up and running within 5 minutes. It was a seamless install and I can play full-screen at 1920x1080. Any higher resolution (my monitor is 3440x1440) and it doesn't start for me. It recognizes my controller (Nintendo Switch Pro through ReWASD key mapper as a virtual XBOX 360 controller) and I've been playing every day since I got it. I haven't been able to try networking yet but this is likely because of ISP-specific issues (IPv6 only); I read that I would likely need to have my connection set up as IPv4 to be able to do port forwarding and connect properly. Once I figure it out with my ISP, I can give an update. I would be excited to play with everyone else!

Hi hammer, long time, good to see you again. Cool to see you're still doing the Hardwar stuff. I'm in the process of seeing if I can find my old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick and playing some Hardwar again.

Hi Hammer! I remember you from waaaaay back when!
Anyway I will also vouch for the Zoom platform release. It installed flawlessly on windows 10 with 0 issues and runs beautifully at 1920x1080. I too was unable to make it run at 3440x1440 but I'd say that's asking a lot for a 23 year old game.
As far as I can tell it's also DRM-free, so I will likely be buying a lot more from them in the future. It's brilliant.

You might be able to fix this easily by putting a $20 router in between your PC and whatever equipment your ISP gave you. Kind of amazed they're trying to do IPv6-only, given then insane amount of IPv4-only equipment still being produced.

On Windows and Linux OSes you can turn off IPv6 in the Control Panel settings, this will force your Router to use protocol IPv4. In W10 (below pics) and earlier, it hasn't change much from these pictures, click them to enlarge them. There are more than Two ways to get there. I listed these by (in my opinion) easiness. 1. [ Winkey + I ] click on Network & Internet, then click on Network and Sharing Center (skip 2). 2. You can open a folder, any folder and type CONTROL in the address bar hit enter, if your settings are different then [ Winkey + R ] type [ control ] then hit enter (bracket not needed) or copy paste this, Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network Connections in the address bar for other methods go ask duckduckgo or google. After reaching Network and Sharing Center you will be able to see your active network(s) the blue link to the right of the (most likely->) Private network should be the ethernet or wireless card you are currently using to reach the internet, click it (the blue link) and then [ Details... ] you should see: Like this one that it has an auto assigned IPv6 if you do click on [ Properties ] Uncheck that box. Internet protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6) click [ OK ]. Now reopen [ Details ] it should have become like this.
