I've been trying to track down any and all information about the game for a history log that I'm compiling before it all vanishes in the dark void of websites getting shut down and no longer being maintained.. I'm trying to download all game editors as well so they don't have the same fate. What software should I know about and look for? I also can't seem to find a place to obtain HardEdit or HardExtract just to name a few. Where is a good place to go for someone looking to edit/script any part of the game?
found this website recently and blew my mind to see active threads in 2020! Please don't let this game fade.

There's a player called Wes who I believe was the king of edits/modding, hopefully someone on here has updated contact information for him.
Among your collection, do you have the program that lets you modify item properties? I remember there was one that let you change cell charge levels/speed and cargo pods. But can't remember what it's called...

Dang, nice response time.
I haven't dug into what I have. started my downloading as of yesterday and looking back into the game once I found my old CD's and realized I've been studying programming for school :] Hope to revive this game for myself and my friends that I played it with. I'll look into what I have and what I'm capable of later this weekend.
What's my ultimate dream you ask??? to find who owns the copyright and see where that leads XD thanks for asking!

The copyright question is one that has been discussed endlessly. I think what we figured out is its tied up between several companies with no clear chain of ownership. Basically, whoever owns it doesn't even know they own it and probably doesn't care. I believe the UK copyright can be bought for something like 500 pounds directly from the UK government. At this point the rights are so muddied I doubt anyone would be able to take legal action. I bet someone could write a novel faithfully re-telling the storyline of the game, self-publish, slap a copyright on it, then make a new game "based on the novel" and it's doubtful anyone would bother to stop you.
As for files, looking through my collection seems I have Hardedit and hardluck, plus at least a few other goodies I can email if you're interested.

To be honest at this point as long as the game is released, only players would recognize it and most of us tend to think in Titanese. Greed or Speed.
That said, wordsonpaper, most of the Hardwar related tools, ship mods, things from Wez, Duncan, or Timiski can be found in the one drive link in my sig, even some random stuff that got uploaded to one of their sites.
