Hi-
Fellow pilot here. Mostly I'm a lurker when it comes to forums, but I've got a problem beyond my ability. I've been playing Hardwar on and off ever since I bought it on impulse from a local bookstore a few years back for something like four dollars. I've used almost every mod on Captain Zedo's excellent site except for the economic editors that let you set prices, which refuse to work.
First I tried Hardedit which looks promising, but only has presets up to U2.04. Thankfully you can set your own offset, size and item number for UIM6.0, but I have no idea where to find them. PLEASE tell me if you know them and they work.
Then I tried OUCH's Hardwar Patching Utility which is awesome; it lets you change so much. However, after clicking patch and then starting Hardwar, I got this error:
"Moth Frame articulation file missing"
even after patching Hardwar with the unedited defaults. When I looked at the frames in the item list, they all had "ERROR.SHP" entered in the "Model" field. I didn't even know there was a moth frame item. Probably something wrong on my end?
I would hack the game myself, but I have no programming skills at all. Any help is greatly appreciated; I've been wanting to mess with the economy ever since I first played this game. BTW this is on Win7 x64.

I'm installing OUCH's editor tomorrow morning and will look into your problem and post back. I'm sure others will probably respond by then. OUCH's patcher is neat, but I haven't used it in a while.

did you get that version off of zedo's site... That version goes way back to where I still used a slider to switch edit profiles... Please see the thread for this program in the modding section for an updated version. be sure to delete the Hardwar Patcher.db file that gets created to get a total fresh start. otherwise it might use all the old info and still screw up. that goes for you too zedo! lol hardwar.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gamemodification&action=display&thread=43If it still doesn't work then be sure you deleted that db file, and after that post your HardwarW.exe file so I can take a look at what my program is doing. Also, I would like to point out that my editor allows you to create new version templates and alter the offsets for each and EVERY edit the program makes. In other words this program technically can work on every version of hardwar ever made. But only if somone would take the time to create said version templates for each version with the revised offsets. It's also has a custom hacks/mod section which allows anyone to quickly and easily create additional hacks/mods for easy distribution. But sadly, dispite all the work that went into incorporating an SQL database that could handle hundreds of thousands of user created game alteration templates for hundreds of thousands of hardwar versions not a single template has been shared since the programs creation years ago... But reguardless it's still fun to see a Silver-y go lightspeed... lol edit: actually I see the problem, It's writing the hacks in unicode... which hardwar isn't... so yeah the new one won't work. I'll see if I can fix it, but try the old one zedo has in the mean time.

re-download from the thread, I fixed the unicode issues that was plagueing the old version. Thanks for pointing it out. Odd no one said anything about it for nearly a year... Everyone must be getting it from zedo or something.
Whenever in doubt, just blame zedo... lol

Good news: IT WORKS. ;D Flawlessly on UIM6.0. UIM6.0 Enhanced is a little screwy. OUCH you are awesome.

Yeah the enhanced version will need some offsets changed for some stuff, but there is nothing stopping someone from changing them.
Glad you like it, but be gentle with the AI though. They are getting old and senile these days. Lol

I just got the new patcher, downloaded the needed mingwm10.dll file, and copied your instructions on the board. I made a few modifications and they worked fine.
I'm zipping the whole thing up to replace the old patcher. I should have it uploaded sometime tonight.
