Hammer's Style Stock UIM06 Long Term using MSGC

The only modification that was done, is I renamed the Hangar Name, Logo and Type commands so players cant abuse them. Hammer had similar commands completely disabled, but I just renamed them so no one can figure them out. I can give these out to the trustworthy few of the lot of you, but not everyone.

I am willing to change these for players in their own hangars, just post your hangar name, and the desired Name, Type or Logo, and please figure out the actual number of the Type and Logo (like in an offline game).

Oh, and your hangar might get deducted 1000 credits for each change....

If people start to want their hangar's renamed, I'll start a directory. I don't *think* renaming player hangars will break the game. But I don't have the hack in place that displays the actual name, so its pretty much just there for targeting.

Its almost on day 400, so its doing a lot better than the modded server

anyone play in it yet? It will try to keep it up regardless.

save file seemed corrupted, came up with an error I didn't see before, the game kept thinking the save file was from a different version but the reported garbage as the version number.

So I started a new game, sorry guys, not sure what day the server was on,possibly close to 750-1000

You know, didn't hammers games get corrupted around that same time frame? I wonder what happens to the game at that time to corrupt the files so bad.

Hehehe, have been there aturday morning, had a snr two minutes after first login that killed me in a tunnel, after that have had a smooth play for a couple hours... DT05 is my witness!

I don't know, and the problem is, I think MSGC restarts the game after it corrupts and the game tries to make a new save or something. Would you like to look at a corrupted save and see what's going on? I did make a copy of the bad save but it looked like it had a low file size.

Sounds like you need a script to backup the last 10 or so savegames (or all if size is no concern) - so you can go back to last non-corrupted save.

yes - or a separate cronjob on the server - a script that is run every 10 minutes (don't ask me how that works I dont know)

The problem is, you need to make sure to only back it up if it has been modified, otherwise, you might just keep backing up the same corrupted save over and over.

Oh, and you can't do cronjobs on a Windows Server

my server was getting laggy, kicking people off teamspeak, so I closed it down to test without bringing it back up. But now im not running a Minecraft server, so it should be fine.

played around for a bit, no pirates in downtown or alpha, didn't explore anywhere else but no pirates will make for a slow economy.

I decided to check the forums for some online games since apparently I have nothing better to do Christmas night hehe. Quite a bit of food and a few other things had accumulated in the tunnel between Port and Midway, so I made a fortune pretty quickly, but not so easily. Pirates were all over the place, but so were traders and scavengers, so I believe the economy is doing relatively well, even after so many days!
Unfortunately my network here in Florida seems to crash randomly sometimes at inopportune times during the game, so I lost my decently outfitted Hawk and decided to call it a night here . Luckily I have most the materials for a DH and some money stocked up in my hangar, but I'm all out of a moth and clones so meh... might wait until I get on another network to do more work. Thanks for the server!
