What about making the pirates having random moth, weapons and pods In fact, we could play HW with fresh sensations if pirates were harder to identify ? Since I've read that Pirates always carry .......................(better keep the secret) the game become much more easier and far less exciting !
Has anyone tried to mod this ?
maybe it is easier to do than translating HW into Fr ;D

I found it pretty easy to identify pirates by name after a little bounty hunting. I think there should be regular traders and scavengers that spontaneously take up pirating. That would really add an element of surprise.
+100 it would be a lot more fun !!! Everything that randomize behavior would be really fun. I remember at the beginning the amount of time spent on the police offices to make money. Then I recognized the names of more and more pirates but there was often some doubt...
Ouch, is it possible to have UIM06 + the enhanced mod you're talking about ?
It works fine UIM06, It is design for !!! Just tried the archive from Raffinery.
In the readme text, it is said :
1) Install Ian Martin's UIM06 Patch
2) Enhanced requires a replacement HardwarW.exe file. The "HardwarE - Enhanced.exe" file should be renamed "HardwarW.exe" and moved into the original hardwar directory. ... 4) To install the features described in "Smurph's Enhanced2 7-27-05 Notes.txt" only "enhanced2" must be moved to the Hardwar directory.

Is it possible to make an UIM06EnhancedWorld (totally ready to use) patch that installs all that automatically just by clicking on it. So now the install instruction should be : 1. Install UIM06 2. Install UIM06EnhancedWorld 3. Enjoy
I'm sure most people would try it... So we can write new scenarios easy to reach for everyone or rediscover old ones with new features
It is really disappointing not to recognize the pirates, some are well known but most of the time you shoot on a scravenger or a trader + the police force is really aggressive and are always 2... It is hard to get ride of them when you're black listed. They use plenty of flares and open fire without warning. The only way was 2 devastators under the lightwell !!! I'll try the Diggers scenarios with that patch ! I think 1st episode is quite impossible if enforcers are the same... Second and third will probably be a lot more difficult now !
If you know how to automatize the installation of this patch, I assume it should give a second life to HW...
The reason they lost in popularity was simply stability issues, one had a very nice feature, with the right Software upgrade, and Police Moth, you would get the data on a flyer while targeting them, and it would display if they had a bounty as well as the price. I do not think it applied with Lazarus, Klamp-G, Skinner, or Scrubber.
Do you think Ian martin will some day make UIM07 that includes those options in the launcher Maybe it could be necessary to modify a bit. For exemple, the Narcotic formula of Smurph is bad. And so is the price of the buildings. A hangar could cost 30000 or 50000 but not thousands $ it makes no sens. The options of Max look cool but when I've enabled them my game crashed each time I pressed ESC to save the game... So right now I play UIM06 with Smurph enhancement minus Narco TI and buildings options. Maybe just a little too much cops but that's really cool not to identify pirates easily
Is there a way to talk to Ian and make a thread where we could discuss which option could join the release ?
