...so I can get to adding the translations section. May I suggest you to implement all the originals strings associated with their addresses into the patcher as well as the max length allowed... So the translator just opens the translation tab. - If his language is available he just has to choose it and "APPLY" (but he can still modify one word or all if he wants). - If his language isn't available he just has to modify at first the flag column (marking with a 1 a cross or anything you choose ; or leaving blanc for example) to say if he wants or not that word to be translated. And secondly, the "translation" column 1 by 1 or by importing all by copy/past from his spreadsheet. It could be helpful to have the possibility to sort all the content, by "string" to modify all the redundancies in one operation and then by address to restore in its original way. That could be very cool to test the translation on the go and correct all the errors easily or to customize Hardwar the way we want. Then as soon as the translation is OK just one button to press to make a new "language file" that can be shared with all the fans.

Ok folks, I have to be quick but I uploaded a new version of the editor. You will find a new translation tab on it, let me know what you think of the the layout.
A quick note: the patch game and add and remove new row buttons don't do anything yet. However you can edit translations, create new ones and even delete old ones.
So you guys that want to translate can get started while I finish the rest of the code... No official release for this one as it is probably buggy. So save often! Unless that triggers a massive bug, then don't save often... lol

Wonderful ! It is far away easier ! Just a little difficult not to erase everything on each mistake I make Do you think we could have an "UNDO" button. And the original string on the same page than the translation ? And a flag column to chose if the string have to be translated or not ? Lool Are the 0x00 useful ? maybe it could be removed ? Ah and one other thing !!! Could you make impossible to erase the original string. I've already to reinstall your patch at least 5 times Just have to erase Hardwar patcher.db lool Each time I quit the patcher it crashes !!!

Again..!! THANKS!!! Working on the excel at the moment! It won't be so fast as sushi but i t will done! Now, a non constructive critic, Ouch, you made so amazing excel full of formulas and let us to put the flag manually? I'm to lazy to do that Can I edit a formula there without worries or it will mess the rest of the spreadsheet? ... it will become a spreadshit Something like =if(xy<>empty cell;1;" ") ---- Forget it! the formula is there... for some odd reason sometimes doesnt work... what a useless non constructive critic!!

Now with the new release of Ouch's patcher just leave the translation blanc is enough I suppose cause you just have to copy and past your translation colulmn into the patcher. Be careful to have all the strings sorted exactly the same way as in the patcher.

BTW sushi, just found something dubious in your translation... thruster power is translated into mode degrade? O.o In fact, in game the message displayed is (on the upper left corner) POWER EMERGENCY THRUSTER POWERBut literally translating into "URGENCE PUISSANCE REACTEUR" has not a really strong meaning in french. It is better to translate in "REACTEUR HS MODE DEGRADE" which could be translated into "Thruster HS emergency mode only"... Or something like that. In fact, when this message is displayed your moth is really slow cause the battery is empty so my translation describes the situation more precisely. An other thing I changed. When you have Flares I translate into "Leurres" nop it is the good translation but to say no Flares, there is not enough room and it is not really pertinent to display a message for something not fitted so I just writed a space " " to display nothing. The idea is : You have it, it is displayed ; You don't have it, nothing is displayed. It is the same for CARGO and NO CARGO. When your target carries CARGO I have translated into "CHARGMT" not enough room to write the correct spelling. When your target do not carry CARGO I display "CHARGMT" anyway but there is nothing under so you immediately understand that the target is empty... As soon as I'm able to see the result I can verify if my choice is good and if it works ! Unfortunately, For the moment, when I click on Patch Game, nothing occurs !!!

;D I understand what you mean, there are certain things I leave in english, is a complete waste of effort to put them abbreviated in spanish where they lack a lot of sense... come on, a ranking is a ranking, here and in nepal, I have doubts someone will use a different word around here to define a ranking... except in futbol of course where everybody will use clasificación ------------------------------------------------- Question... I understand what happens with accents but what about this letter--> ñ same thing? I should abstain using it?

So Riedquat are you going to try your velvet voice for message received, incoming missile, and target locked?

sites.google.com/site/ouchsdownloads/home/downloads/french%20uim06.jpgAs you can see folks, the patch game button is now functional! It just goes to show you that not only can you in fact teach an old dog new tricks, you can teach it new languages as well. lol As a bonus I put a launch button in the bottom right corner of the app as well. So you literally just select the language you want, click "patch game", and then click "launch". Not sure if I can make it any easier than that... The only problem that remains is that hardwar keeps stripping out those fancy characters in my version... Hopefully those with the patched french version of the game retains it's fancy characters. I'll see what I can do to make doing the translations a little more user friendly. But you can always copy the entire grid to a spreadsheet, make your changes there, and then copy them back to the patcher with a few clicks... In fact you kinda have to in order to distribute your language at the moment as the import and export functions don't work with the translations yet. So just copy and paste to a spread sheet and save it. To create a new translation, in the drop down box at the top where you select your language just type in whatever you want to call your translation, and then click on the "Save New" button. A new translation will be saved with the english defaults. Oh, and the default translations have changed slightly. Be sure to either delete your "Hardwar Patcher.db" file, Or delete the default translations using the "delete" button and then restart the app. This was don't to get as close of a byte-for-byte default as possible. It still won't be because 0D bytes in the strings get converted to spaces.

So Riedquat are you going to try your velvet voice for message received, incoming missile, and target locked? No, I'm planning to use a gringo voice speaking Spanish and as you offered yourself so kindly.... ;D Imagine the stereotype of a French speaker with that peculiar pronunciation of the "R", think in the pronunciation of River or @ "arroba" I pronounce the "R" like a heavy G, so no matter in what language I speak, if its not french I suck, because river in my lips is gggiver and giving my email address by phone has ended in very hilarious spectacles here in the office Mensaje gggesivido! Also all computer messages will be better in a female voice Btw... my nick is also in-pronounceable for me

I just had a thought to those of you still using the spreadsheet I posted...
Don't use it unless you have updated the strings and string lengths with Duncans updated strings posted on page 7. It's not a huge issue, but you will need the new strings from there, and the updated character lengths will give you more room for your translations.

But you'd better wait again a little cause Duncan is making a new extraction tool to extract the original strings and count the exact number of characters available. wait no more btw replaced the 0x0Ds with regular spaces and ignored the newline character that some strings ended with. Hello Duncan, your extraction file miss some addresses. could you give me your latest script to reextract all the strings in order to feed Ouch's Patcher with a perfect file. For exemple all those addresses are missing : 1072015 31 DAY:%ld, TIME:%02ld:%02ld:%02ld JOUR:%ld - %02ld:%02ld:%02ld 1072047 31 DAY:%ld, TIME:%02ld:%02ld:%02ld JOUR:%ld - %02ld:%02ld:%02ld 902923 16 Testing Patience Tests en cours 955219 21 Installed: Version %d Version installée: %d 1029043 21 Installed: Version %d Version installée: %d 883751 11 %s's Hangar Hangar - %s There are probabely a lot more... I think I'll go faster with a brand new file back from the very begining, than looking for the missings strings one by one. I can't add the missing one by one in Ouch's patcher and there are many pb with the addresses formats and chaclen calculation etc... With the actual script i've got, it seems that every string is collected but the max char is not recorded, only the actual string size. Thx
