Well google's once again added a new feature to google's image search you can now upload a picture for it to search, so far it doesn't seem all that accurate on images or logos that have little notoriety so you may want to go check it out,
So how do you feel an improvement or something worrisome.

I saw the announcement for the new service earlier this summer. It's good with flags. Just drag an image of a flag to the box and it will show you what the flag represents. I haven't tried it lately. I figured it died along wit Swirl and most other Google ideas.

I've using the service massively for a couple months and I must say its awesome, it throws out of the market more than a couple images search engines out there... if it is on the web it probably will find it.

Are you using the service to find the location and meaning of pix? I've been trying to use the new service to see if images are copyrighted or if I can use them. It's not been very successful and flatly wrong in two tests. May not be Google's fault, but the fault of the image hosts.

Are you using the service to find the location and meaning of pix? Exactly! I've been looking the origin and background of pictures of historic and artistic places. I imagine your pain trying to guess in copyrighted material. Actually it could be easier just going to www.sxc.hu/ or any site like that and try to search for a free photo matching your criteria.
