I'd like to see the end of a dogfight and the pirate collecting the cargo. How did you make these? I've been seeking an easy way to make some Hardwar movies to put on the site.
The simple answer (made complicated) would be,
A) Fraps to record. (You could possibly use Xfire to record.) 2 minutes 44 seconds of video is 1.55 GB! At around 30 fps (frames per second).[/li][li]
B) XMedia to re-encode the file, the avi is now between 40 and 50 MBs.[/li][li]
C) This is where I typically make a gif, with a program called avi2gif.
However for this I import the video into Window's Movie Maker, (Freeware which is usually installed during Windows' installation.)
D) Then I "borrowed" Zedo's trademark flag, added it to the front of the video,
added the "credits" with fade out,
and imported hardwar disk 1's track 5 for a opening and closing soundtrack,[/li][li]
added a few more fade transitions between
Title before the selected clip in-order to make the transition appear smooth.
E) Added last Zedo Flag logo, then when to File>Publish Movie>This Computer>"Named the File">Best for (Recommend) option, which produced a 1 minute 10 seconds video at 6.55MBs .wmv from the 15.8 MB avi that was 1 minute 01 second long. And then back to Xmedia to convert the .wmv into a 5.43 MB .swf file.
Advice: IF you so choose to develop the skill of using WMM avoid making any photo video collages for anyone that will tell, in-fact say you hired someone. Otherwise... You will have less time for Speed and Greed.
(WMM is Windows Movie Maker)
[A*]Observation: CoD4 runs at more fps than Hardwar. (I'm guessing a limit cap somewhere in the code.)
[B*] I can trim the file with Xmedia (freeware,) now or later in WMM. Due to a bad choice of codec? Or maybe trimming it in WMM the .swf video has that bar on the left side.
[D*] I recorded with the disk in, though I could have played the game without the disk and and then added the music sound track later.
@zedo; if you want a copy of that .swf (5.43 MB) just let me know, I also set the code that it uses to stop after one play through (reason for the flag also being at the end.) Also Zedo recheck the link please, this was the idea I was kicking around, and influenced the design.
