I seem to remember there was a way to keep playing the game forever even after the ending.
Does anyone know where I can find that.?
It's been a few years since i played and forgot all the good stuff about Hardwar I used to know. ha !

I'm not sure what you mean by "ending", but you can run through the missions all the way up to entering the Abandoned Terminal and still keep playing. There are some interesting effects. Here's how I go about it:
1) I run the missions, get in Sid's special Moon Moth, and get to the Abandoned Terminal.
2) I *do not* enter the terminal. Instead, I sit under it and wait. If you have "Phil's Ending" set in the launch screen (default setting), every Moth on Titan will be coming to kill you for the next five real-time minutes.
3) Moths will enter and be destroyed by the blue storm. Note that they drop their cargo. If you only had a pod and drone...
4) Keep checking who is gunning for you using the F9, F10, F11 keys. You can see the pilot's objectives on the left of the screen. Pilots targeting you will have KilPil_[yourName] in their objectives.
5) Once there are only a few pilots left gunning for you, head straight back to your hangar. Note that some tunnels may well be blocked with Moths. All sorts of weird things will happen.
An interesting note is that generally the taxis will be killed off. This is how we discovered that the factions required the taxis to bring them new pilots. Without taxis, the Laz and Klamp die off. There are dozens of interesting things in continuing.
I used to find continuing after the terminal mission an annoyance, but I find it interesting today. The economy eventually comes back in about one Hardwar day.
Another approach to living forever is to just quit following the plot's missions whenever you reach a comfortable spot. I usually break off after Gang Boy. That's when Fusion Cells and alien material are plentiful.
Note: you can uncheck "Phil's Ending" in the launch menu: Launch Menu > Misc Tab > uncheck Phil's Ending box . This prevents all the Moths from targeting you in the last mission. Previously, it was discovered that toggling a Phil's Ending registry entry would do the same thing. The checkbox makes it easier and is available on all UIM patched games.

My first time through I didn't run the gauntlet I got overly exited when I had 30+ target Warning X is targeting you. And landed Syd's moth in DT05 and launched in my High-Fly moth which every spawned AI encircled my hangar, which I took advantage of. A bumb here a plasma there, A fireburst over there, and a well placed groundbase making one moth slam into the one below it. I can't even say there was a Q order. lol

Groundbases are a good tip. The tunnels can get plugged with AI pilots and groundbase is the only way to clear a hole quickly. Eventually you can kill them all. Overall, you can cause a nearly complete renewal of the AI pilots.
