Hi all
Came across Hardwar a few days ago, awesome game cant believe i missed it back when it was released.
Having a little touble with mission 2 didnt go to the mass driver 1 until day 13 and Im unable to find the mass driver part. Is this a known bug?
Edit: did a search couldnt find anything that releated to this issue.

Part of the fun of this game is learning all that little stuff.

First make sure your Moth has *Radar* 3 software. Radar 3 allows you to target ground targets. If you haven't been seeing cargo and scrap metal targeted, you probably don't have Radar 3. Go to a Software Shack Downtown. More on Software and locating it here: zedo.hardwar.org.uk/software.htmNext make sure it's time for the Driver Part to appear. You should have received the *Decoy Required* message. Finally, once in the Port Crater, head to the tower (Mass Driver) to your right. The Mass Driver Part will have been dropped by Laz Repair 004 behind and to the left of the tower. Known glitch: Sometimes, Laz Repair 004 can't drop the Mass Driver Part. Just kill 004 and the part will fall. Once you target the part, shot it a couple of times with laser and you'll get a "blue storm". I cover this mission in more detail along with the other missions on my site. The mission index is at: zedo.hardwar.org.uk/plot.htmThe specific page for mission 2 is: zedo.hardwar.org.uk/decoy.htm

I tried this crude method once: I went to the nearby bars and bought them out of Narcotics and Alcohol. I was making both at Derelict Warehouse in Riverside.
I would also starve Waterfront Booze and the Narcotics maker of Pure Water and Chemicals. It took a couple of Hardwar days, but eventually I got a monopoly and sales started to happen. They came hard and fast and all at once.
I tried the same thing selling Narcotics in Downtown out of 008 near Lightwell #3 and got nowhere.

Are you using UIM6? Does it even matter what version? I've been trying to do this forever and could never get it to work. I was selling alcohol in Downtown 5 for 50! And no one came to buy it. They would only come for repair services but never left with any alcohol. So I have to buy out waterfront booze and the bars first? Why would I have too if I'm selling at such a discount of 50 per unit? And what was your method for starving them of chemicals and water? And why wouldn't this same method work selling out of 008 in Downtown for you? It seems that there are soo many picky variables. I don't understand it.

The version of the game does matter. UIM 5 did something that caused pilots to park forever outside trading centers. They do that in other patched games, but not as often or as long. UIM 6 took care of a world of problems from video compatibility or a more dynamic economy.
The original game could bog down to no commerical action for days. It would pick back up slowly.
