What a botched job you've made of this game your making, ue4 was designed for a first person shoot up,not a sandbox trading simulator.

This is a bit harsh don't you think? The remake is in very early stages, what makes you think it is "botched"?
It seems to be progressing just fine in UE4, especially since he is including on foot aspects of the game with FPS gameplay.

techno: Wrong. 1. There are plenty of Unreal Engine 4 games that are NOT first person shoot em ups. Look to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Unreal_Engine_games#Unreal_Engine_4 and gamerinfo.net/engines/unreal-engine-4 2. When you are in the cockpit view, the original Hardwar **IS** a (flying) first person shoot em up. Unreal Engine is an excellent choice. The person developing this is working on this project for free, in their own time. Please respect that, or go create your own competing Hardwar remake project.

Hey Techno. A younger me would probably have said the same.
While originally Unreal Engine was the engine for Unreal, it has come so far. There are lots of people who prefer it for first person games, you're right, but that doesn't mean that's all it's good for, the format is just a small part of what the engine does.
The few bits you need to edit to make flight possible(actually there's a flying and floating pawn already out the box) far outweighs the effort I'd have to put into making more assets to fill the game with (Unreal gives away free assets every month that I get to just put straight into the game).
Anyway, I chose Unreal because of it being less effort and because they don't rob you blind when you release the game. As I don't have much time or money lying around to throw at this game, I chose the path of least resistance.
Hope you check out a video or two, maybe it'll excite you, if it doesn't, I'd like to hear some critique in the comments anyway.
By the way, Hardwar is my absolute favourite game of all time. That's why I'm building this and not making up a random space game with strobe lights and wall running.

Shucks, no strobe lights in the hangars to give your visitors epilepsy?

You mean with loud grinder noises and high pitched humming in the background? Hmm, I could consider it.

Currently there are hardly any sounds in the game. Sound design is a very important aspect to me. Bad graphics are okay as long as the gameplay is good, but bad sound pierces to your soul!
Hoping to either get some good sound resources or maybe a professional to design some satisfying sounds.

If you need music you could always get some from, incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/music.html double check the licenses though, incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/faq.html incompetech.filmmusic.io/standard-license , incompetech.filmmusic.io/extended-license it seems to be usable, but I have never studied legalize. After using the "Feels" drop down with the tags: Aggressive, Dark, Unnerving; I got this song, "In a Heartbeat" Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 4.0 License http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/
I have this one skip to 28 seconds in. tags: action, aggressive, dark, intense This one most likely doesn't fit the Hardwar style, but it's a nice piece, that would make a nice exploring a creepy area theme, more Subnatica perhaps. lol freesound.org/browse/ Another site this one has some royalty free music and sfx, you might be able to find something fitting or a place holder for certain sounds.

No offence meant.
