So, I was able to finally get the game to run. However it crashes as soon as I leave a hanger.

Do you have the UIM 0.6 patch installed? It could also be a missing texture problem, there is a patch to add missing textures. I think they are hardim.res and hardup.res found in this folder: onedrive.live.com/?id=6E0B7EFB6066B195%212912&cid=6E0B7EFB6066B195You could also try software mode. I haven't had that problem before, but I have never tried to install the game, though I did try to install from the demo, which didn't work at all, on 10.

Sadly no, you can load up (a) moth(s) and have your thug(s) sell you things though. But they (thugs) will not buy anything for you. And AI will not sell you anything, no matter how high you offer to pay. This should, in my opinion, be because items you want to buy are not listed inside of the trade menu so they are not accessible to the general AI.

I believe it is, I always liked u3.5 but it is buggy, and most people played uim6 so I never explored the other versions much. Have your thug meet you where you want to buy cargo, I recommend a Moon Moth for thugs. Have the pilot hop out, board it yourself, buy goods you want delivered then hop out and put you thug back in then tell the thug to sell it at your hangar. order thug_name,disembark or exec thug_name,out order thug_name,sellall,downtown 05 You don't have to give a go order so that is helpful. Also the reason I recommend using a Moon Moth is to have 2 thugs inside since MMs with a passenger will not be shot at. It is believed that this is to protect taxis from being destroyed, which effectively cripple factions, and maybe the economy itself, I still find it interesting that Taxis will purchase Fusion Cells. Curious: I have never tried this myself, but would a MM with two criminals be fired at? Since the game may just be checking whether one of them is innocent or not. In order to join a local server you need to type 127.0.0.1 into the server address window when trying to join the game.
For a remote host, you'll more than likely have to forward ports through your ISP's router, and any other routers or switches on your network. In simple English, this is the main thing that killed Hardwar multiplayer, after all even when a port is forwarded correctly you may still not be able to join. The other is that Hardwar had no server tracker(s) like gamespy, or what ever is used these days. That and the player must know the IP of the server, which more often there was only one being hosted due to the first reason, they would like to join.
Hope that helps, that said if you are running the server on a different computer on your same network you'll need to know that computer's net address.
192.168.1.* is a typical C class network and a lot of ISP's tend to use that on their routers by default, since most people do not have more then 250 devices, computers, phones, laptops, printers, tvs, consoles, watches, alexa-esque devices, home security systems, etc. . . Wow that list has grown a lot in the last few years.
So it is also possible that your isp might be more ahead of the curve and be using a class B network, 172.16.*.* which is (256*256)-2 IPs devices.
But odds are they would just go straight to a class A network, 10.*.*.* typically 10.0.0.* Thought they tend to still treat it as a class C network.
Anyway to find out on Windows hold the Windows key on your keyboard and press R, now type in ARP -A it is not case sensitive.
It will spit out some numbers:
Interface: 172.16.0.97 --- 0x1e Internet Address Physical Address Type 172.16.0.1 ff-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff static
Interface is your PC's IP in this case: 172.16.0.97
While Internet Address is actually your router's net IP: 172.16.0.1
If you happen to have other devices; phones, comps, printers, etc. the address for them may also be listed in this case it would be a 172.16.0.* number, but it will not be 172.16.0.1 nor will it be 172.16.0.255 as these are reserved in a class C address.
Your IP address could also be a long IPv6 type address that is very similar to the physical address in format. I don't have one listed as IPv6 addresses are like clean fin.ger prints, where IPv4 is more like smudged digital fi.nger prints.
Alternatively you can use TRACERT google.com to see the first hop, your PC's IP then the router's IP, do this on the "server" PC and you'll be able setup your own little lan.

127.0.0.1 is the loopback address, not 122.0.0.1
Is your "server" the same PC you play the game on, another PC in your house, or another server somewhere on the Internet?

UIM6 was the last patch for Hardwar, it may or may not play well with HardwarE, I believe you can find the details out at hardwar.info Wez's site and it has a downloads section where you should be able to download Hardar Enhanced. If not there you can find most things ever released in my OneDrive, but it is rather unsorted and may not have everything my harddrive does. The last or latest version of Enhanced should be in the here: hardwar.proboards.com/thread/42/hardwar-enhanced-development though I am not sure if scoob released a version or not?
