There used to be a 3D Studio Max plugin back in the day, but it only worked with 3DSMax v5. So, it wouldn't do you any good unless you can get your hands on that specific version. I used it to edit the models of some of the ships back in 2007, but cannot find it anymore and I don't have a copy/license for 3DSMax 5 anymore anyway.
EDIT 3: The other programs listed in timiski's link should be in my archive as well, the si g lin ks don't redirect currently, I'll edit my sig just in case.
Edit 4: Added a folder called Assets, it has the texture bmps, I really didn't expect the building textures to have been on sprite sheets, both sorted and unsorted, I'll upload a zip folder of them too. The png files are upscaled, but may need polish, or redrawn, only did the building ones, not sure why tbh.
Textures bmp.zip has all of the textures unsorted. Textures sorted.zip has the well sorted plus the few png upscales.
The HARDWAR folder in assets has the different moth textures, redundent yes, however it also has the Silver-Y, Tiger, crater (not sure I tested it?), and 'box.obj' (aka cargo) files that can be imported into game engines.
FOUND SHP.htm Looks like this is not the servant_droid teeth03 is looking for.
I dropped the ones I found in the first page | root directory for now.
I also found a set of PY scripts to convert to blender, they are in folder [Duncan Hardwar to Blender].
? I found a SHPeditor not sure if it is version two or not, I am also not sure which is the 'newest' since it has a smaller file size.
* I found the source code to shpimp, it has a sln file so it maybe compliable, you might need an older version of to download the an older version of visual studio or a compiler that can open sln instructions.
DLL is vague and only the arteditor was reliant on it, I uploaded HardLookDLLs and 3dfxSplashDLLs (a fix for video in SHOGO) same era so it might be useful for something.
