Ok. That's interresting. My Brother who works in software development is absolutely shocked that it is still possible to access another application's memory.

I managed to get a UIM06 client "sort of" connecting under Linux to a Windows 7 hosted game on a local network. However, there are still some issues around DirectPlay:
002c:err:dplay:DP_MSG_ExpectReply Wait failed 0x00000102
This is causing the client to not connect and therefore time out. This means that I won't be able to connect to yours. I even tried connecting to your server with my Windows 7 machine but could not see your server when entering the IP address even with ports forwarded, all ports open or entire firewall disabled. Yet, I can ping your server ...

You could connect with dial-up with no issues. . . but anything more advanced has always been a huge struggle. I remember using hamachi a long time ago to connect to another game as a work around, but I think that hamachi is no longer free. It also required it to be setup both server and client side. And acted something like, umm... the term escapes me atm, like a bridge or a LAN or maybe a network tunnel (sorta like a vpn, but a direct connection).

If there is a server still running, I may try and pick this back up again. I was thinking to start off with a Win95/Win98SE box to start with in order to ensure network configuration is not the issue, as Hardwar on Win9x using TCP/IP should be a guarantee. If that fails, it points to network issues. From there, I'll start progressing towards a Win7 machine, then to Debian Linux using WINE. Let's see how far we get.
Can we confirm if there are any servers up, and that are likely to be up for some months?

It's not running currently but I can assure you it works fine on newer Windows version, the server is 2016 and my W10 PC can connect to it.
I might try spinning it back up.

I started the server back up, I think I fixed an issue that should have it be more stable. It's been up for about a week without the need for a manual restart.

Try this program called Beta Hangar if you have any old save games that are have reached the broken economy stage, it's in the [Server Tools or Cheats] folder in my archive, it allows you to edit the saved game. Select the hangar you want, I made a few pictures that I put in the folder to illustrate the program. Dr Jobes Weapons
