It is. But it looks that only you is interested. Even if you can fund the whole project alone - it will be not... right.

I so want to correct your sentence... It is. But it looks that only you are interested, even if you could fund the whole project alone - it would not be... right. Or perhaps - it will not be... right. <-- This really depends on the way your saying it would not be right, saying it's not fair that one person would be funding it, or that the game mechanics/story would not be right to the person that is funding it. @ Teeth03: And no, I'm not a retired English teacher.

Naming is nice. Thanks for the correction. Making somebody one sponsor in the whole community is not right (not fair, yes), because all community will get this product for free - later, when it will be ready to publish.

eeehhh... I'm sure I'm not the only one interested... It wouldn't and wont happen. Period. Organs traffic isn't so profitable anymore.... 150 Euros...pfff... I earn in pesos, if i need to think in dollars I just multiply by 4... Euros is just around x5 ;D Major problem is we are very few, if at least we were over 100 members we easily could do something, but we aren't... Pilot: thanks, nice choice Btw, what is your opinion on the matter?

Your right Ried, their isn't many of us, and I'm not sure that one person would enough, to make a sequel. Though I wouldn't mind giving for this.

Three persons was enough to make Hardwar itself. At the present time, some technologies (like XNA) making development much easier, and therefore faster.

Hmmm. What a gamble and i sense the house would win and i don't play for the house! I would invest in a working prototype. Paying for words at a monthly fee of €30 (assuming the 4 other posters pay regularly) and if people drop payments the cost increases rapidly. This makes no sense to me. Now the following is not intended to be offensive or a judgement of character but just thinking outside the box a little. There are other factors to consider: Who currently holds the rights to Hardwar? I doubt it just disappeared during insolvency. Calling it "Hardwar 2: The future is covetous" is out. What if you already own or have access to source code , if not, THE code to Hardwar or similar? You have to show us something to whet our appetites! What will stop you from bailing on the project and/or leading us on using a previous project? i.e the various open source projects currently running. [a href=" www.hardwar.org/"] www.hardwar.org/[/a]

I will be one to speak in the optimistic view. Everybody in this community would LOVE to see a sequel or even possibly an updated remake. There is one problem that I can see in this whole endeavor: MONEY! See, I for one became a victim of the falling economy. While I'm sure that not all of us in the community has, still times are hard and money is tight. Asking us to contribute when several of us have families to feed and bills to pay is a little optimistic, especially using the "trust" method. If you made it, and were able to put it on the shelves, then many of us would pick it up as soon as we could afford it, but asking us to contribute with nothing in return is like throwing money we don't have away. Sorry, I don't have that kind of money

Who currently holds the rights to Hardwar? If the community could get paid 0.00001 cent of the currency you want for every single time the exact same question was posted in any of the hardwar boards we would be able to make 50 hardwar sequels... Anyway... currently the owner of the rights is the English Crown, or at least they should be... this was mentioned by I.M. a while back or perhaps (and very probably) I made it up... honestly not sure. LOL

I too would love to see a Hardwar 2 or a Hardwar Remade with modern programming in mind. I'm happy to provide concept art for any project but like many on here, its a question of comittment more than anything else. Projects come and go we need something everyone can contribute.
I have two Hardwar projects on the go, Hardwar Reimagined, basically an exersise in conceptual art, redesigning the game with modern graphics in mind. And Hardwar the Script. I study movie scripts and ive been working here and there on a script for a Hardwar movie (ive had to alter some of the story and flesh out some characters) but these are just personal projects a long way off completion.
We are small fry but it can be done, we need a plan, and a final goal with everyone helping out.
