Love Logitech my first joystick ever, and for Hardwar, was a Wingman, I have a replica of it stored somewhere. A Wingman (Logitech) was my first joystick, too. I remember it fondly. It was around the Christmas holidays in 1998 and I'd just found a copy of Hardwar for only $5 at a Babbages (since defunct). I'd played the demo to death using keyboard and treated myself and new game to a Logitech Wingman. I don't think anyone saw me over the holidays as I became absorbed in the game. At that time there was no walkthrough and no forums. Once I'd completed the plot and figured out the trading and amnesty schemes, I decided to put up a site of my own.

Well I never was a Trader, hated autopilot and too cheap to want to remove it, so I didn't even know trading was useful till I found this place, ^^; didn't take me long to favor the Scavenger as my start package, though my very first package was Aggressor I when and attacked randomly, I think the first was some helpless trader, then again maybe it was a Cab... I got my first look at game over. ^^;

@ Pilot: You seem to have evolved the same way I did. Once I got the full game and could pick a starting set up, I chose Aggressor. I took up bounty hunting with a little scavenging. It didn't take long to find that killng a pirate with cargo was my best bet.
I had gotten in trouble with the police and killed and didn't know about amnesty, so I kept bounty hunting. One day, I accidently hit a trader during a firefight and got on the Poice Wanted List. On the way to pay the fine (yes, I was that naive) I killed a pirate and found that my record was clear. That's when it all came together for me and I took up piracy.
I've tried to play through the game by only trading and scavenging, but it's almost impossible. I just can't do it!

I think I got tired of paying fines and decided to how much of a fine I could get, I had lots of good cargo when a pirate targeted me, I think I got Groundbased which really just got me mad, I killed then and lost my fines, I never worried about them fines again. I remember the first time I got a Fusion Cell I was flying from Gamma to I think Alpha and I saw some fighting then some scrap I cycled through my targets planning on ignoring it if was food or something else low on my list it was a Fusion Cell I was like never seen that cell before, so I swooped in used the fast drone trick retrieved my drone and afterburnered out of there to alpha tunnel, got half way in "parked" and started checking for my nearest hangar, I never imagined it would as awesome as it was. Saved me a lot of charge time.

Well, I received my Thrustmaster Top Gun joystick from the UK. I went for something simple and basic, I know, but more than anything I prefer that heavy duty feel to the stick and that high resistance when you pull back. Also, I heard this joystick has high compatibility with almost all Gameport -> USB adapters on the market. I need this because I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate on the ASUS EEE PC 901.
I remember that back in the day, I loved the appearance and features of the Saitek X35 & X36 combo, but because of the low resistance, it completely put me off.
I'm just waiting for the Gameport -> USB adapter to come from Hong Kong now so I can connect my Top Gun joystick to the EEE PC.
