Reload your page from the server using Shift+ clicking reload in your browser. The current page is okay. You are probably viewing a page from cache. Maybe you already understood, but I didn't mention which site it was about. It was the main page of the forum that makes this reload happen. hardwar.proboards.com/index.cgiI'll try clearing the cache and load it from fresh..

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="iso-8859-1"?> <html> <head> <blablabla waste of space </body> </html>
This is the code that makes it reload after a restart of windows.
I see two links to external sites via scripts. One to cdn.viglink.com and cdn.gigya.com. Viglink arranges the banner-stuff for proboards (google search) and gigya looks similar, but then for social sites like facebook/hyves.
I will try some other sites to see if they have the same effect. It can also be a local problem, since I had some crashing flash-players recently!
Edited to reduce space taken.

I don't own ProBoards and can't change their code. ProBoards does have advertising which is what you see. The code you point to is common pay-per-click stuff.
I'm afraid that some hysteria has set in and that some are seeing every script as malicious and every advertisement that's not from Google as hideous conspiracy.
Google tries to bully sites into signing up for their ads. I won't run Google ads and that's pretty much that. Don't let some company that could care less about you tell you what to view or not view on the internet. If you need security, there are plenty of non-Google options you can configure on your own machine.

Ok, found it it's not a problem with the site indeed. It's whenever I click a link of my favourites bar... I tried several other proboard-sites, and access this forum via google, and the problem didn't appear. Only when I click (any) link of my favourites bar. Sorry for the false alarm!

I'll tell you one that irritates me. Pages that have rotating ads that never fully load and suck up my RAM and bandwidth. One such site is listverse.com - List Universe. I love their content, but the damn ads almost never finish loading. It's like being on dial-up again.

Their bots will just keep putting that stuff back until you block them from the site. Do Russians even play hardwar? If they do, perhaps someone there can toss up a site on it. Why not just block the entire country with .htaccess? (along with all of the other 3rd worlders who are known for rampant hacker scum) Along the years we have had a couple of rusian players, Arvic comes to mind but imagine there were others. Hackers do not have to be active on the site to infect it. Most likely it's a bot, and you've never virtually met the person who set it up. They do this to sites from Aardvark fans to zyzzyva advisors. *chuckle* From which 3rd world do you hail?

Considering Arvic hasn't been around for about 2 years much less seen this forum since it's transfer I believe s/he innocence in this matter would unquestioned.
