Has anyone made an updated version of the old hangar editor? There used to be one for 2.04, I'm hoping there is something equivalant for UIM06.

The old tool for U2.04 is still on the downloads page as HardEdit 2.04(I don't know why I remember it as HardHangar), the file is hardedit.exe, not that any of that will help, I am sure, but I believe it was written by a flyer named Solidex(or something to that effect), who seems to have dropped off the radar sometime in 2004.

Check the player patches here: zedo.hardwar.org.uk/patches.htmOUCH's patcher can rename all sorts of things. HardEdit works on newer versions. I think the "2.04" refers to the HardEdit version. Not sure, but I'm pretty sure it still works as it edits parts of the HardwarW.exe file that weren't much effected by the SR patching.

Yeah I played with Ouch's patcher(and think I found a bug of some sort) but it doesn't do what I want.
Namely, I am annoyed with the almost complete unavailability of Largest Pods later in the game. There have only ever been 2 for sale in my game as far as I can tell; I bought them both and lost one already. Been preciously guarding the second one.
I tried using HardEdit on UIM06 and it didn't seem to work at all. Got lots of weird text and couldn't find anything familliar. How hard is it to manually edit HardWarW.exe?

Post this to the General Board where it will get more veiwings. Have you tried supplying Shear's Yard, Downtown near Light Well #3? They produce pods and may build you a Largest Pod if properly supplied much like Downtown Moths can be made to produce exotic Moths.

Did you know that two moth dealers make pods as a bi-product while making moths? I'm not sure if they get converted to part of the ships hull, or just made for no apparent reason, but they usually have two pod 1s and 1 of pods 2,3,4 in stock. And while I'm at it Bargain moths makes frameMM but never NewMothMM so it sadly only makes Silvers. And since anything short of memory hacks or a patch won't let you acquire these NewMothMM frames they just sit there rusting.

Lazy to look myself... somebody remembers what is the pod recipe? I thought the moth dealers used comp-comp to produce the pods, why? i dont know... It could do more sense if they produced lasers instead

I'm not certain how much of it is still true.

Thanks Jeff! Good archive you seems to have there So there it is, comp comp is only used to produce pods, but these pods never will be sold to anyone... or has anyone seen an ai trader purchasing pods from any moth dealer? ...The other manufactures only two types of moth... Yeah, sure! Silver-y's and Swallow's...... I must see to believe!

Shear's Yard makes pods, but I don't remember what they require. I don't think I ever checked that out. You can find the general list of what Shear's Yard needs at Trade Central. I've had them make small pods on a regular basis. They're cheaper than the trading posts.

Based on what Jeff posted the correct recipes should be:
Smallest pod: 1 sheetmetal, 1 machparts, 1 plastic and 1 compcomp Small pod: 2 sheetmetal, 2 machparts, 2 plastic and 1 compcomp Medium pod: 3 sheetmetal, 2 machparts, 2 plastic and 2 compcomp Large pod: 4 sheetmetal, 2 machparts, 3 plastic and 2 compcomp Largest pod: 5 sheetmetal, 2 machparts, 3 plastic and 2 compcomp

Thanks for the formula. I'll get that up on the site with the next update. I'm planning a pretty big update in April.
