Lies! Computer games are everything! Well maybe.I think the matrix put me off the idea of totally immersive gaming though.

Hello, here is flap, who created MSGC a loooong time ago. I just wanted to pop in and say "hello"
That post sounded like the perfect place to do! Happy birthday Hardwar! It has probably been my most powerful game experience, and led me to more creations.
Thank you ian martin, and every other long time players (i see ouch, zedo, teeth3,...)

Hi All! Glad to see a few people have popped up here and there. Hey there flap! I'm guessing you are the legendary Duncan? I reckon teeth will have gotten a lot of mileage from MSGC by now!
I've reached out to Ian to see if he has any more news.

Nope, Flap is the original developer behind MSGC, Duncan just took over development after he was unable to continue working on it.

I see. I remember seeing Duncan's name attached to downloads of MSGC. Didn't realise flap was the original dev.
Apologies flap!

Hardwar will be 20 years old in 2018! So, I decided earlier in 2016 to do something to the game, before July 2018; I'm just not sure exactly what, at this stage; certainly a patch or two. For now, here are the fruits of test which took a few hours today, extracting the main body of the Moon moth, and its associated textures, into 3DS Max. It's not complete - the UV co-ords are slightly wrong, as it's using actually the wrong texture. But here we are, a shape created in the DOS 3DS in about 1995-6, now appearing in 3DS Max (WIP). I'll come back in a couple of months, when I have more idea as to what can be done. This is Great! BTW. Welcome back!!! Don't remember which tool I've used (that 12 years ago) but I still have all SHP files converted to dot xsi format somewhere on my drive (uvw mapping intact) if you want them I could send them to you! Another UIM patch would be great, especially to fix graphics/network issues on win 10. Not really related but Urban Assault community got their hands on game source some time ago, they've made great progress making that game run on new hardware...

@ian: Thank you so very much for everything you've done and are still doing for the Hardwar community. This game was a part of my childhood and there is no game quite like it!
@everyone: Hope you are all well!

Hey there flap! I'm guessing you are the legendary Duncan? Haha ! I love that one. It makes me feel like an old and forgotten hermit who taught bits of his black magic to a young adventurer, who soon used it to became a legendary hero. Actually, I met Duncan once in real life, and tried to explain him my philosphy behind MSGC (which actually is the piece of code I am the most proud of. I'd love to dive into Duncan's source code to see how he made it evolve). I wonder if he actually learned how to "create" the black magic, or only "to channel" what I showed him But for sure, he's done a good job at maintaining and making it evolve after I left the community...

Hello all, Hello Ian
Should you let just a little more bits to translate in your next release ? Translating words like "fit" in french is quite impossible and the UIM6 doesn't keep the language of the french game release when applied !
Bye

I hope that smart weapons Corp and building damage are reintroduced on the update-they were the last thing Sr included before they liquidated.
