Isn't Assembler a step back? It was probably a poor analogy. Ease of use vs greater control and better performance is what I meant.

also hammer have u considered www.no-ip.com/ for ur hosting thing, that way people can just put in for example hammer.no-ip or something and it lets ppl in.... or is this game 2 old for that? Dynamic DNS works fine with Hardwar. Shortly after the Hardwar U2.04 upgrade was released there was a great Hardwar server in England at hardwar.dyndns.org that I played on quite a bit. It was pretty common to see up to four players on at a time. When I saw the hardwar.dyndns.org hostname was available again I grabbed it for old time's sake.

Also, i can be a backup host if hammer wants to send me the save. I promise no hacks or anything.
Although i would love to supply the moth dealers with 99999999 of each moth....
I have pretty good cable service where i live. I would have put a server up already but we dont need more than 1

Jeff, why dont you assign hammer's ip to that dns? While that might(?) be possible, it would need to be manually updated every time Hammer's IP changed though Hammer could run a auto-dns that would change it when it became invalid. Also, i can be a backup host if hammer wants to send me the save. I promise no hacks or anything. Although i would love to supply the moth dealers with 99,999,999 of each moth.... Im not trying to compete with hammers server. This community is small enough as it is, that we do not need to fragment it.
Oh, and i dont think anyone has successfully hosted an Enhanced server, so i think i will pass.

Now that I know your ip. . . *Locks Door* "Muwahaaaa" I was out of my apartment for a while after you posted this so I don't know when it started or how long it lasted but eight or nine hours later I noticed the activity light on my cable modem wasn't blinking and my router smelled burnt. The only thing that works on it now is the power light. It should beep when it's done booting after getting power but it doesn't. I assume some sort of denial of service attack worked the cpu hard enough to fry something on the pc board. [Edit] I don't know what you mean. \^o^/ On a serious note: I would not do that, it would abuse the trust that people have placed in me. As little as it may be. Compiling your posts into one, I know I am being hypocritical here. Edit when you can. ^^; [/Edit] Jeff, why dont you assign hammer's ip to that dns? Dynamic DNS works the other way around. The DDNS provider assigns the hostname to your ip and then propagates that info to DNS servers around the world. ________ well, hammer would have to install the updater on the server, unless Jeff wants to manually update it I tried to convince Hammer a long time ago to use Dynamic DNS but he didn't seem to be interested. ________ The hardwar.dyndns.org hostname is available now for anyone who wants to claim it.
