I have a new scenario for UIM6, Called Digger's Run. Need someplace to upload. Made it years ago for an earlier version, but never posted it. It's an economic challenge. I always disliked the easy start for this game, so I made my own. It's tweaked to the dollar, and I learned a ton about the game from it. Your name is Digger, and escaped the prison mine, sold the cargo sled you escaped in you drove to Mines Trading Post for $300, bought a fungal sandwich for $6 (which you might regret later), and have bought from Bargain Moths (whether you like it or not) with 2 med loans, an old scav moth with major damage (also tweaked to a tee) with a destroyed drone. Your challenge, be totally debt free at the earliest opportunity. Like I said, need a place to upload

That's a really good challenge. I've copied the rules and will put it up on the site's Challenge page. It might be a little while because I'm doing some other updates to the site.
I like the requirement of having two loans.
Do you want player's to start from flat broke with no Moth? This means starting in a Police hangar if God Hangar isn't used. Any further start up instructions?

It's a single player .sav. You are standing in the monorail station at Mines Trading Post with $296 (actually an important number) in your pocket. Your bought-sight-unseen Hawk is waiting for you at Bargain Moths. After all, the dealer did say the magic words "eee-zee financing is available". Ride the monorail to Downtown, from there it's up to you how to proceed. The only rule is you have to be debt-free as soon as you can, hopefully before the enforcers begin to make life difficult...and of course no cheat keys I usually can finish before the beginning of day 5, when the enforcers start. But not always. Huge number of decisions to make, very enlightening as to how it all works.

You can zip the saved game and attach it to a message on this board. You can also email it to me at:
CaptainZedo@mail.com
I'll make a special effort to get it up on the site quickly.

I emailed it to you. I can't see how to post it here, probably disabled for non-members.
BTW that's $300-$6=$294, not 296...duh...I see what too many years in the mines has done to my arithmetic.

I've updated the site with the Digger's run SAV game and text instructions. All links are in the first article of the INFO site's main page: zedo.hardwar.info/You must be running the UIM6 patch for the SAV game to load. Neat challenge.

Question 1: Define cheating?
Examples: Can we use amnesty? (Is it really a cheat? Kinda...) Can I use pod/drone tricks? Like having more of an item in my pod then the game "officially" allows? Does this apply only to no Admin / God Hangar?
Question 2: Are we required to only use the Hawk (starting moth?)
Tip: IF Q2 is equals "No," then selling any or all equipment aboard said Hawk and exchanging it for a Silver-Y would be cost effective, repairs would be a bundle otherwise.

>>Question 1: Define cheating? >> >>Examples: >>Can we use amnesty? (Is it really a cheat? Kinda...) You don't have to be a model citizen, so you can use amnesty. >>Can I use pod/drone tricks? Like having more of an item in my pod >>then the game "officially" allows? if you can afford that many items, or a drone, or your own hangar to load them, sure >>Does this apply only to no Admin / God Hangar? It applies only to no Admin / God Hangar, everything else is ok. >>Question 2: >>Are we required to only use the Hawk (starting moth?) Nope, if you can afford it, sure, trade it in. But I think the Hawk is a pretty good deal if you prioritize damage control. You can do anything you want to as long as both sharks get paid off completely and you are debt-free. The only measure of success is what day and time that get's done. -Digger

This scenario is one heck of a challenge. ;D Im at day 5 and still only have $350ish dollars. Already I have an enforcer after me! The cost of flying a taxi from the station to my terribly slow moth cost me around $250 when I began the game. So I was left with less than $40. I have seen other challenges where you start the game with absolutely nothing. Obviously there are aspects of the game I am yet clueless about.

That taxi ride is your 1st major decision ;D Are you sure that's the cheapest way to get there? The scenario is designed to present a lot of them.

FYI monorail takes the mick in how long it takes to arrive... Yeah, it's generally there to add something to the story, and waste a bit of time. I usually save after I get to my moth, exit the game, rename it to "Digger's Run - short", make another copy and run that...prevents some aggravation It's very difficult, and good luck. -Digger

Day 8 for me at 02.17 exactly Enforcers 00 and 01 often in range, (02 costed me a 1250$ pirate !!!). It was hard to shoot pirates and laz to make money. I had already sold my pod to fix the engine and the motor. Maybe a mistake Really hard storyline Digger ! Thanks a lot... Pffff time to go to bed or maybe to wake up in fact
